5 Years Of ArtistAnd

On the 7th of September, 2024, we celebrated ArtistAnd's 5th birthday. That's 5 years of sharing art with the world, and 5 years of getting to know each and every one of you. What an absolute joy.

This blog is a dedication to my penciliers and all the amazingness they bring to not only my life, but to their community too. Without the penciliers, we wouldn't have a community so I want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone that has made this freelance life so worth it.

Over the past 5 years, I've made some amazing new friends from all walks of life, age groups, backgrounds and from all over the world. I've taught people in the USA, UK, Switzerland and Germany (to name a few), and I'm yet to be flown over to teach abroad but I'm sure the universe wants me to wait for a reason.

If you consider teaching both corporate, private, and group classes then you can see how very quickly I've literally taught thousands of people. (I hate to brag but that's literally what this blog is there for). I love seeing how different people learn, how they take information and how they see things slightly differently from others. I absolutely love adapting to everyone's learning style and giving people the same results which is pride, happiness, and a sense of achievement after their drawings.

AWARDS

When choosing the awards, it's so hard to not select everyone. I cannot stress enough how thankful I am to all of you and how you all contribute in your own way so I had to be tough and narrow it down to 10 PPL. Gayle Lawnday - Filthy Animal Award

This pencilier shows us that pleasure is not just for those in their 20's and once the kids have fled the nest, get into some yoga! Master of the art of subtlety.

Spinach Strangis - Overachiever Award

For the pencilier who raised the bar so much that the teacher had to consider whether they should go back to drawing stick figures.

Ceylan Mustafa - Moans & Groans

The pencilier who treats every stroke like a crisis but walks away with amazing artwork. They turned groaning into a new form of art itself! Thank you for trusting the system.

No 1. Fan Award
No 1. Fan Award

Here are some funny moments that will stick with me for a long time.

  • 2 pguests have joined the class whilst driving

  • 1 person lost their tooth mid session

  • one person looked for an invite to the next fun and sexy time

  • Someone showed us their bearded dragon

  • A 1 star review when they didn't turn up,

  • An unsolicited dick pick from an old man (looking for a life model)

  • An Instagram invite to meet up in a mental health hospital

  • Someone wore my rote bag instead of an apron

  • ArtistAnd rubbers, edible ArtistAnd rubbers and just a load of shite in general.

  • Kicking kids out when we were drawing ice cream

There have been quotes I'll never forget about:

  • love boats,

  • gentleman's juice

  • yoga sex toys

  • Fake boyfriends

  • a little bit less shit than before and the most embarrassing one.

Lastly, I'd like to thank the amazing Kaf's Bakes for making us a gallery cake & dairy-free & gluten-free cupcakes for our guests! She's such a talented baker and our guests loved it. If you feel good supporting small business's, then go and buy some brownies off her. They are delicious.

Team, you are absolutely brilliant and I'm so grateful for you all. Thank you for celebrating with me and for sticking around. ArtistAnd would be no-where without you.
