What Is A Live Portrait Artist?

You may typically know a live portrait artist as a caricature artist. Personally, I don't like these as they always leave people with an insecurity. My services are based around realism, so I'll either draw your portrait in pencil, or I'll paint a figure painting in watercolour. Both allow you to recognise yourself as an artwork.

What Events Do You Work At?

This service is great for  many different types of events. People absolutely love having a live artist! My most popular book is for weddings and brand openings. If you have an event, get in touch and lets see if it could work.

Do guests need to sit for their portrait?

For the pencil drawing it's a lovely addition to have them sit for me but of course, it's not easy to sit still! Some people find it therapeutic, others struggle so I can draw from a photograph. The watercolour illustrations I'll need to work from photographs so I'll take them on the day.

Do The Guests Get To Keep The Artwork?

Yes — guests take their artwork home with them on the day. I also take pictures of each one so you can see them after the event too and not miss out. Of course you can choose to take them all home for yourself if you want to!

Can You Personalise The Paintings?

Absolutely. We just need to know ahead of time so we can add the logo, or name, date etc. It's easier to personalise with the watercolour illustrations as the pencil drawings are on grey paper so we can only do black on these.

How Long Does A Live Portrait Take?

It varies on the medium you choose: Watercolours :

  • 3 hours = approximately 25 – 35 guests

  • 5 hours = approximately 45 – 55 guests

Pencil:

  • 3 hours = approximately 15 - 20 guests

  • 5 hours = approximately 30 – 35 guests

Do You Travel Outside London?

Yes. I’m based in London but travel across the UK for weddings, corporate events, and private bookings. Travel fees may apply depending on the location.

Are Live Illustrations Suitable For Corporate Events?

Definitely. People love this as a gesture at their events. Live event illustration is popular for: staff parties, networking events, conferences, brand activations and product launches.​

How Far In Advance Should We Book?

Popular dates — especially summer weddings and December events — can book up several months in advance. Booking early is recommended to secure your preferred date.

How Much Does It Cost?

The service varies and it's from £525 for 3 hours which include all materials, prep time, travel in London, materials and photographs! Enquire for more info. I don't add extra 0's if it's a wedding either!
