These online drawing classes require no prior experience. We all have to start someone, and I specialise in teaching beginner's how to draw. I know it can feel scary trying something new, it feels like getting naked in front of someone! But this is a safe, judgemental free environment and you're going to see improvements fast! What Happens During A Lesson?
Each online drawing lesson is relaxed, supportive, and completely tailored to you. Using a live camera setup, I’ll demonstrate techniques step by step while guiding you through your own drawing in real time. You’ll receive personalised feedback throughout, helping you understand not just what to change, but why it improves your artwork. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, experiment creatively, and progress at your own pace. After each session, many students leave with practical exercises and new techniques they can continue practising between lessons. To set up your space, simple:
1 - Open up your laptop so we can see each other and you can see what we're drawing.
2 - Suspend your phone above your hands so I can see what you're doing and make corrections when needed.
I'll do the same, or teach direct from my iPad so you can see what I'm trying to explain in a nice clear image.

Hey, I'm China!
I have a degree in fine art, specialise in hyper-realism and have exhibited in and around London. I've been teaching for over 7 years and worked in the art industry for around 15 years.
Now, I run my own little art business. People say those who can't teach, and I don't feel like that's true at all. A part of my job is teaching and I absolutely love it. I get to connect with people, show them that they are creative, and see them improve their skills! I also paint illustrations for weddings, host corporate events and provide commissions for clients.

What Ages Do You Teach?
I teach ages from 13 - 65+.
I've Never Drawn Or Painted Before. Is That Ok?
Absolutely! We all have to start somewhere and I think that's one of the best places you can begin! You'll get to see the journey right from the start. Don't feel nervous, I'm here to help guide and support you, not embarrass you.
What Time Of Day Do You Teach?
My working hours for private art lessons is between 8am - 6pm, Monday - Friday. Feel free to book me on your lunch break.
Can You Help With GCSE Art & A-Levels?
I'm not a curriculum teacher, so I can't help with passing your exams, but I can help you understand the fundamentals of drawing and watercolours and learning how to see. Often schools don't teach you this so it will still be beneficial.
What Experience Do You Have As A Teacher?
I have always been an artist, and studied fine art at university. My specialism is realism and oil paint but I teach pencil and watercolour to beginners. I've exhibited all around London and now run my own art classes sharing my passion of art. I have over 7 years of teaching experience.
How Much Does An Online Art Class Cost?
An online art class cost £35 an hour and you can get discounts on block bookings.

Can Adults Learn To Draw From Scratch?
Absolutely! I truly believe anyone can learn how to draw, you just need the right teacher. Like most skills, hobbies are taught and learnt, no-one starts of an artist. It takes time and practise. So if you're willing to put in the work, trust the process, you'll be able to learn how to draw too.
Are Online Lessons Effective? I Prefer In Person
I would argue that these are more affective than in person because of the camera set up. Having the phone suspended above your hands means I can see you in real time with no distortions. In person classes mean I can't correct you as you go, as I'm not seeing the correct perspective. Online also allows me to draw on the images and show you things you can't see in person.
Do I Need Natural Talent To Learn Art?
No. Natural talent is a myth. Yes, some people may pick it up quicker, but that's probably because they started some lessons as a child where they are more malleable. Talent takes hard work, dedication and passion. If you are missing one of them, this may not be the right hobby for you.
